I’m a little confused. You appear to be a for-profit company that charges some pretty hefty fees for your services. Yet, you have a .org URL which is normally for non-profit organizations. You ask for donations for your healing center, but I don’t see that you are a registered non-profit or religious organization? Are donations officially tax deductible?
Help me understand. What’s the story?
We are a church, we are incorporated and registered as church in Pennsylvania. We are a congregation under a para church called the International Assembly of Spiritual Healers and Earth Stewards Congregations.
I don’t know what registration you were looking at. If it is of PA charitable organizations, we are not required to be registered because of our religious status as well as the amount of contributions we receive per year… Some churches decide to be worldly and get registered with the IRS.. that is their choice, but we believe church and state should remain separate.
I do most of the healings and administration I do not get any income from it. All donations goes towards maintaining and furthering the ministry.
The wellness center supports our other work. We set the minimum donation at or below going market prices… They may seem like hefty prices, but really they are not even at the fair market value… some of the work we do is on the market at $300-500 dollars and some even more…closer to two years of salary… I don’t know what you are using as comparison, but I am guessing it isn’t apples to apples… Plus if you have been reading the website you will know that the services usually doesn’t start nor end while the person is in the office. An hour in the office may lead to several hours out of the office in prayer work and followup.
The in-kind donation amount is not tax-deductible like any other in-kind service you would get. i.e. you pay for your car to be washed by a church you only get to take a tax deduction on the amount you pay over what you would normally pay at a car wash. If you decide your donation would be more, then that would be tax-deductible.
We also work with those who do not pay for services in our open healing services… and other situations… We also provide other free ministries and do missions work.
It depends on the service desired- if it is desired or needed to maintain a life. Like a hot stone massage would never be a free ministry, while it promotes health, it will not change a balance of life for someone… but bio-energy healing for a cancer patient might be or working with an autistic child for parents who can not afford a visit.
Much of it depends on God’s answers to prayers. If He is saying to do it or not – sometimes the answer is to not do something even though my heart reaches out to a situation. I must follow God’s guidance that is the only way the blessings flow to all…
Hope this answers you questions.
Blessings-
Linda
